What makes us tick
The events in Haiti, Chile, Mexicali and Times Square validate the need for developing and developed cities to have next-generation messaging platforms. Platforms capable of making outreach possible from agencies to its citizens and vice versa. Platforms capable of leveraging the distributed nature of the internet, the ubiquity of location and the emergence of the smartphone. Platforms capable of those in danger a better chance at survival and those who are injured a better chance of being heard. The Gov 2.0 movement championed by Tim O’Reilly is making democracy personal, Government more transparent, and the reputations of citizens and agencies efficient. The sustained success of this nascent movement is intertwined with the future of connected device and the internet of things. A more connected future will result in a more connected society. Connected societies capable of self-organization and resiliency under duress. That’s the future CiviGuard is betting on, and we can’t wait to see it!
